How it works

Two individual rhythms. One current view of home.

Each person uses their own phone and has equal access to shared matters. Home Cadence connects you where information needs to be shared, without appointing one person to oversee everything.

1. One person starts, the other joins

The first person creates the shared home and invites exactly one other person. A new device must be approved before shared content is made available. Both people can see who belongs to the household.

2. Add what genuinely needs to be shared

A shopping item, bill, home project or weekend plan goes in the right place. Today brings forward dates and steps that need attention now.

3. Each person can carry on offline

A change is saved on the phone first. Losing reception does not stop you ticking an item, adding a step or reading information already saved. The app shows what is waiting to be sent.

4. Connectivity restores the shared state

When the phone is connected again, content is encrypted on the phone before it is sent. The server stores encrypted data and the technical metadata needed to update the shared state.

an important conflict may require you to choose which version stays.

5. A notification only says it is worth opening the app

Notifications contain no titles, amounts or content. Google handles their delivery and related delivery metadata. You see the details after opening Home Cadence.

What the pilot will examine

The pilot being prepared is intended to cover the whole everyday flow: adding the second person, working across two phones, going offline, returning to a shared state and understanding each message.
